Full Time Student & Missions Ministry Assistant

Major Student Duties and Responsibilities:  Perform general office work under the supervision of the Student Pastor and Associate Student Pastor.

  • Maintain supplies and various files; keep records and compile these into periodic or occasional reports.
  • Keep up-to-date records on prospects and prepare information for Student guests.
  • Manage, order and distribute literature and disciple materials as required for all student ministries.  Ensure the proper amounts of materials are purchased and minimize waste.
  • Track budget expenses and receipts for all student ministry activities, trips, resources and events.  Work with the  Student Pastors to ensure proper allocation and tracking of all financial transactions.

Major Missions Duties and Responsibilities: Perform general office work under the supervision of the Discipleship and Missions Pastor.

  • Maintain accurate files and records for mission trips and participants.  
  • Assist with mission trip logistics, travel, planning, budgeting, tracking donations, and reporting. 
  • Assist with all Mission’s Ministry communication to the congregation related to mission trips and World Missions emphasis.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly team meetings and provide appropriate communication to the ministerial team including other key office staff as needed (Communications Director, Pastor’s Assistant, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Communications Director to ensure all flyers, web sites, and communication materials related to all Missions and Student Ministries are up to date and accurate.
  • Prepare and submit Activity Scheduling Forms to reserve rooms and resources as well as add events to the church calendar. 
  • Provide general office support (covering the phones, the front desk and various projects as needed) in coordination with the Pastor’s Ministry Assistant. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor and/or Executive Staff.

Supervision

  • This Ministry Assistant shall be responsible as an employee to the Student Pastor, Associate Student Pastor, the Pastor of Discipleship & Missions and the Executive Pastor and through him to the Senior Pastor, Personnel Committee and church congregation in all matters related to his/her employment.
  • This Ministry Assistant will coordinate with the Pastor’s Ministry Assistant the discharge of major duties and responsibilities.

Working Conditions

  • Observe regular office hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, except as required by the needs of the carrying out of assigned responsibilities or as provided in the general personnel policies.
  • Vacation, holidays, and other circumstances related to working conditions are determined by general personnel policies.
  • The Student Pastor, Pastor of Discipleship & Missions and Executive Pastor and/or Personnel Committee must approve participation in conferences and conventions.

Qualifications

  • Be a Christian of high moral character who has demonstrated loyalty to God, to the church, and to the Senior Pastor and ministerial staff.
  • Shall express a call to the ministry as church employee.
  • Shall be able to lead and work with the volunteer workers of the church in a spirit of harmony.
  • Shall demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with other church staff members and ministry assistants.
  • Must have experience as a secretary or administrative assistant.
  • Must have experience working with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) 
  • Must have the ability to learn and work with our Church database and generate accurate reports.
  • Must be able to list boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
