Volunteer Opportunities

Work will include clean up of flooded areas/homes and ministering to people in need.

Must be 18 or older unless accompanied by a parent/guardian

Must provide your own transportation or carpool with others.  You do not have to go for the entire time period.  Please let us know your date and estimated time of arrival and date of departure when you register. 

Housing:  We will stay at First Baptist Rosharon (16211 2nd St, Rosharon, TX 77583).  

Need to Bring: money for meals (approx. $15/day), air mattress, bedding, towel, pillow, personal hygiene items, work clothes, old shoes/boots, work gloves, sun protection, and any other personal items needed. 

We will collect money and prepare some team meals together (breakfast, sack lunches, dinner).  We will need a few people to help prepare meals for the group.

Travel Dates

Planned 2017 travel dates include:

  • Oct 5-8
  • Oct 13-15 (some may stay and help the whole week of Oct 15-21 since it is fall break)

Checklists & Items to Bring

Mud-Out Checklist

When helping with the mud-out of a home that has been flooded, here is a suggested list of items to have (do not need to have all of these):

  • Tetanus shot if possible (Walgreen’s)
  • Mud boots/work shoes/boots, with thick soles
  • Work gloves
  • Latex gloves
  • Face mask with respirators – N95 and P100 are both rated for dust and mold
  • Hand sanitizer / wet wipes
  • Ice chest / water
  • Sack lunch

  • Utility / box kife, extra blades
