First Baptist Forney 2012 Short-Term Mission Trips

Resources & Forms

North American

Las Vegas

Our mission team will partner with the Nevada Association and work with the Southern Nevada Raceway Ministry at the Nevada Motor Speedway.  The group will be involved in various ministries as volunteers during this event.

Trip Date:  March 8-12     Estimated Cost:  $600

 New Orleans   

The team will be working with FBC Chalmette to help with Vacation Bible School and other outreach activities in the community. 

Trip Date:  June 3-9      Estimated Cost:  $300 per person 

Camp Barnabas-Purdy, MO 

This is a camp that offers childhood experiences to kids who have been robbed of them by disease or disability.  The team will consist of counselors ages 16-29 who will work 1-1 with a camper for the entire week.  There are other jobs for those adults 30 & over.  Any student age 14-15 can go as a Barnstormer doing various jobs around the camp.

Trip Date:  July 25 - July 1     Estimated Cost:  $250 per person

River Ministry - Construction Team 

The River Ministry purpose is to help construct churches, parsonages, and clinics in the Rio Grande Valley and/or in Mexico. 

Trip Date:  August 26-31    Estimated Cost:  $100 - $200 per person

New York

Our church is considering mission opportunities in New York City and surrounding areas. We are looking at going on a Scout Trip to this area.

International Missions

Uruguay, South America  

This mission team will work with local missionaries and churches to help conduct an Upward sports camps and also train a local church how to run their own program to reach people for Jesus Christ.

Trip Date:  March 9 - 17     Estimated Cost: $1600 per person

Ethiopia, Africa

The mission team will work with local missionaries in a medical clinic, food distribution, outreach, and discipleship training. 

Trip Date:  March 30 - April 7           Estimated Cost:  $1600 per person

Plzen, Czech Republic

Our church is serving as a virtual strategy coordinator in Western Czech Republic.  Our trip to Plzen will include prayerwalking, scripture distribution, and various projects to build relationships (English classes, sports camps, etc).

Trip Date:  June 28 - July 7           Estimated Cost:  $1600 per person 

Bangkok, Thailand

Will meet up with local missionaries to join in on Prison ministry and teach English camps.

Trip Date:  December 12-22           Estimated Cost:  TBD
